Update progress of the metro line No. 1: Ben Thanh - Suoi Tien

Metro line No.1 with a length of 19,7 km (2.6 km long underground section and 17.1 km long elevated section) go through 14 stations includes three underground stations, eleven elevated stations; among them that Station No.6 will connect directly to the third floor of Thao Dien Pearl’s retail podium.

According to Thanh Nien newspaper dated 7/9/2011, Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung has approved the revision budget of Urban Railway Construction Project Ben Thanh – Suoi Tien (Line 1). Negotiation with the contractors of the main package will be conducted after the project is adjusted.

Currently clearance work being carried out urgently with District 1 and Binh Thanh District have completed their part. According to the latest directives of President People's Committee Ho Chi Minh City - Mr. Le Hoang Quan asked the local rest (Dist 2, Dist 9, and Thu Duc Dist) to accelerate and complete the clearance compensation at the latest by 30/9. According to Le Van Pha - Vice president of Samco – Samco is preparing compensation frame of the relocation for District 9 and Binh Duong province in order to bring intercity bus station to the suburbs, connecting with the metro line, consistent with planning of Ho Chi Minh City. Budget of construction of the new bus station is estimated about 3,500 billion VND and expected to be completed in 2015 - 2016.
