August 28th, the construction of Ho Chi Minh City’s first metro line No.1, 20 kilometer in length, has broken ground after several postponements. The Ho Chi Minh City Metro System – a foundation for an anticipated modern development – will soon be realized.

May 16th 2012, Board management of urban railway Ho Chi Minh, who represent for People’s Committee Ho Chi Minh City, have signed the full package contract (EPC) of package No.2 of Metro line No.1 ( Ben Thanh – Suoi Tien) with Sumitomo Japan contractor and Cienco 6.

Metro line No.1 with a length of 19,7 km (2.6 km long underground section and 17.1 km long elevated section) go through 14 stations includes three underground stations, eleven elevated stations; among them that Station No.6 will connect directly to the third floor of Thao Dien Pearl’s retail podium.
